LEC fans are calling the broadcast for long breaks between matches, with technical issues and game interruptions ruining fans’ viewing experience.
The LEC got off to a rocky start, with lower viewership than the previous year and technical issues exhausting viewers as well as broadcast team members.
While many of these issues are expected to be fixed by the LEC in the future, some viewers claim the problem lies with the broadcast itself.
A Reddit thread that has been gaining traction claims that even without technical issues, the downtime is too long and they are struggling to stay invested in the day’s games.

LEC fans slam lengthy broadcast delays
With the LEC returning for the first time in months with a ton of changes to League of Legends since players last set foot in the Berlin studio, there had to be at least some technical issues.
However, the first LEC weekend was difficult, with technical issues delaying more games than they did. It took much longer than expected for the matches to take place. This led to the cast and other broadcast crew doing their best to fill the time, but some viewers say they struggled to stay invested.

Caedrel responded to all of the criticism leveled at the LEC broadcast on his Twitch stream, Sjokz addressed the situation in a tweet saying it depresses me a bit that a lot of people say they hate Downtime content, and a photo of Quickshot lying behind the casters desk was posted after the incredibly long broadcast of the first day of the LEC competition.
Caedrel’s response was the most thorough about the situation and what it’s like to work on the show as they deal with technical issues. Do you think you were intentionally trying to delay the game for content? Do a good pre-game, do a good post-game and do a good interview. That’s it. It wasn’t going to take that long. Were just there to save time and create content.

He also claimed that a certain brand of unnamed device did not work properly with LEC computers, causing players to reset their settings on their mouse or keyboard. Even a player with a problem of this nature could cause a delay.
While the LEC broadcast team apologized for all the delays and promised to improve the viewing experience in the future, it seems some LEC fans are running out of patience.
