Criticism is not always a bad thing. It can be seen as an opportunity for growth and correcting mistakes that have held us back from reaching their true potential. If done correctly, criticism can even be the most productive way to interact with another person.

10 Endeavor Collapsed Due To Dabi My Hero Academia Criticism
My Hero Academia’s Endeavor proved less critical than its predecessor, All Might. His attempt at atonement forced others to re-evaluate what they thought of him, and some didn’t like him losing his nervousness.
Endeavor struggles to come to terms with his family’s criticism as they frequently mention how he abused and neglected them. When Dabi revealed himself to be Endeavour’s lost son, it was enough to stop him in his tracks and freeze him on the battlefield for several full minutes.
9 Maine Didn’t Like To Have His Stability Challenged Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Maine was the leader of the group in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. While stable at first, her boosts clearly had a mental impact that grew as the series progressed. At some point, Maine began threatening his allies, causing them to suspect he was suffering from cyberpsychosis.
Needless to say, Maine was less than thrilled with that accusation. He had to lose what remained of his humanity to finally recognize his bad behavior towards David. By then it was too late for him. Rather than go after his former friends, he died in a burst of glory against their pursuers.
Deltora Quest
Jasmine had a very different life from the other Deltora Quest characters. Rather than suffer under the Lord of Shadows, she survived in the forest long after her parents died. This gave her a heightened affinity with nature, but a lack of human interaction left her slandered.
As a result, Lief and others had to exercise caution around her, especially since she did not consider her childhood to be “inferior” to that of her peers. To his credit, he provided invaluable skills for hero survival.

6 Jean And Eren Constantly Criticized Each Other In Attack On Titan
Jean and Eren were the most underrated rivalry in Attack On Titan. Even during their training days, they constantly criticized each other’s performance to such an extent that they physically fought each other. When Eren became a titan, their criticisms only evolved into different forms.
This gave Jean reason to attribute all of Eren’s accomplishments to his improved form while giving Eren the right to accuse his rival of being useless. Even before the battle to get Shiganshina back, the two men were ready to fight for no reason.
5 Blind Obedience Code Planned By Lelouch Geass
Whether as Lelouch or Zero, the main protagonist of Code Geass hated being challenged or criticized. When the nascent Dark Knights questioned any of his orders, he never actually explained them. Instead, Lelouch simply reminded them to do as they were told.
Those who repeatedly challenged Lelouch were punished. Tamaki, one of the man’s staunchest critics, coveted a rank of prestige for his “hard work”. Given his previous complaints, Lelouch named him the Black Knights’ “head warden”. Fortunately, Tamaki wasn’t smart enough to realize that was an insult.

It would take a bloody street fight with Deku for Bakugo to finally change anything about his hyper conflicted personality.
3 Maki Quickly Proved His Detractors Wrong To Shoot
Maki was one of Fire Force’s most criticized heroes. Whether some members of Company Eight criticized her because of her gender or her own family assumed she couldn’t protect herself, Maki had to constantly prove herself.

2 Inuyasha Bickers With Kagome And Her Allies For Criticizing Him Inuyasha
The titular protagonist of Inuyasha has constantly seen the need to defend himself against criticism. From bickering with Kagome over alleged recklessness to battling Shippo over practical jokes, Inuyasha has argued with the other heroes more than the villains themselves.
Nevertheless, the series’ antagonists also criticized Inuyasha. Many lesser demons attacked his legacy, and even his own brother felt like he was unworthy of the Tessaiga. Ironically, Naraku was perhaps the least critical of Inuyasha even though he was the main antagonist of the whole story.
1 Toph Considered The Critics A Personal Attack On Avatar: The Last Airbender
Toph’s quest for independence was her main focus in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Therefore, she viewed any criticism as a personal attack on her character and lashed out accordingly. This immediately made her distant with Katara, who tried to assume a “motherly” role among her friends.
Toph also ran away from home because she knew her parents would be too critical of her lifestyle to accept her. It was one of the best decisions she ever made as she ultimately helped Aang free Ba Sing Se from the clutches of the Fire Nation.
