Prince Harry, Meghan Markle did not ‘anticipate’ public ‘criticism’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing an unexpected amount of criticism.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s latest docu-series and a book have failed to hit the mark as the couple face criticism.

Royal expert Victoria Arbiter told TalkTV: “It’s very difficult to speak for Harry and Meghan in terms of their overall goal with the Netflix docuseries, with the book.

“I think Harry, with his book in particular, was very keen to get his side of the story across, so mission accomplished in that regard.

“He holds nothing back, as anyone who’s read the book knows, he’s very willing to share all facets of his life.

“In that regard, I think yes, he achieved his goal but I don’t think the book was received as he hoped.

“There are people who remain extremely sympathetic to him, but there’s been a lot of criticism, so the general public is talking about him in ways that they may not have anticipated.

“I think they thought there would be a similar level of sympathy to that after the Oprah interview, so I think they were probably quite shocked.

“Americans in general are a nice bunch and I’m generalizing when I say that and I think Harry and Meghan enjoyed that level of sympathy that they may not have received in the UK.

“But I think they will have been shocked by some of the negative pushbacks, I don’t think that was intended at all,” she concluded.
