Lady Susan Hussey attends Norfolk church service with King Charles after racist row

The King was joined by Lady Susan Hussey at a church service two months after his resignation over racism.

Lady Susan was pictured smiling after attending the service at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Royal Family’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on Sunday.

In November, the 83-year-old stepped down from an honorary role after asking Ngozi Fulani, a black British domestic violence campaigner, where she was really from during an event at Buckingham Palace.

On Sunday, she attended the same church service as the King and Princess Anne.

The Prince of Wales’ godmother has resigned from the Royal Household and apologized after repeatedly challenging Ms Fulani, when she said she was British.

Lady Susan later apologized in person to Ms Fulani, founder of the charity Sistah Space, after expressing her shock at her treatment by the late Queens lady-in-waiting.

The two women then met again at Buckingham Palace, with an official statement saying: At this meeting, filled with warmth and understanding, Lady Susan offered her sincere apologies for the comments that were made and the distress that they caused Mrs. Fulani.

Lady Susan is committed to deepening her awareness of the sensitivities involved and is grateful to have the opportunity to learn more about the issues in this area.

Ms Fulani, who has unfairly received the most appalling torrent of abuse on social media and elsewhere, has accepted this apology and appreciates that no malice was intentional.

He added: The Royal Households will continue to focus on inclusion and diversity, with an enhanced program of work that will expand knowledge and training programs, looking at what can be learned from Sistah Space and ensuring that that they reach all members of their communities.

Mrs Fulani and Lady Susan are now asking that they be left alone to rebuild their lives following an extremely difficult time for both of them.

“They hope their example shows that a path to resolution can be found with kindness, cooperation and condemnation of discrimination wherever it takes root.
