Ariel Helwani Responds to Joe Rogan’s Critics, “He’s Dana’s Boy”

Ariel Helwani takes offense at something that was said about her by Joe Rogan.

Two of the most popular YouTube MMA podcasts are The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani and The Joe Rogan MMA show. These two men have been in the sport of MMA for years and have different but sometimes overlapping jobs in the sport. Rogan is a commentator for the UFC and does his MMA show on YouTube. He has a great relationship with the fighters and when talking with them he seems to enjoy casual conversation more. On the other hand, Helwani is a journalist and interviews fighters on his show. Now it looks like the two are going head-to-head.

On a recent episode of Helwani’s show, he had UFC fighter Sean Brady as a guest. Helwani brought up the subject of trolls threatening him and his wife. Brady made a “bury them in the desert” comment, which Rogan caught wind of. He replied to his then-guest, Belal Muhammad, that Helwani likes to have certain things said on his show.

Ariel Helwani didn’t appreciate Joe Rogan’s accusations of leading his guests

Rogan was essentially insinuating that Helwani was asking leading questions in hopes of tricking fighters into saying interesting quotes. Helwani took offense and refuted it in his most recent episode.

“It’s especially rich coming from the guy who was pushing fake stories, fake news, fake news and all kinds of nonsense over the last two years to the point where people were demanding he be removed from Spotify, which I never agreed with,” he said. “But I mean, it’s rich. Of course, we know what the story is with Joe. He’s Dana’s boy, he’ll always be behind him.

Helwani and Dana White have been at odds and haven’t got along for many years, Helwani is now figuring out that maybe the animosity sent by Rogan is due to his loyalty to White.

“At least I’m asking people about things I know pretty well, unlike you know, someone who sits in front of their guests and pretends to know more about a topic while talking to an expert. and pretends to be interested in the subject,” he said. “Now I talk over and over about something that I don’t really want to dwell on, but it’s a weird comment. That’s a really weird comment. “Ariel Helwani likes to get people to say things,” I mean, yeah, I do. I like when people tell me things, it would be an answer to a question. But other than that, I don’t really know what he’s referring to.

Rogan is not the only one to have taken aim at Helwani in recent months. He also caught the shadow of fellow podcaster Brandon Schaub and UFC lightweight Paddy Pimblett. Pimblett was angry with Helawani for not paying him for an appearance on his show.
