Si Woo Kim has responded to accusations that he was dragging Phil Mickelson in the shirt he wore in the second round of the Masters on Friday.

Kim, who is from South Korea, has been playing on the PGA Tour since he turned 18 in 2013. During the match at Augusta National on Friday, Kim wore a jersey that read PGA Tour on it.

On the upper left side of the jersey there is a tag that even says PGA Tour Golfwear.

Some thought Kim wore the jersey intentionally because he was playing in a band with Phil Mickelson. Mickelson is the most notable defector from the PGA Tour as he was the most high-profile player to join LIV Golf last year.

Did Kim pledge his PGA Tour allegiance and take a swipe at Mickelson? He said online that the shirt was just a coincidence.

Kim responded to a screenshot of a Twitter post that said he was trolling Mickelson with the shirt. He wrote in an Instagram comment that he’s been wearing the shirt since 2020.

No, there was no ulterior motive behind the shirt. But people like to have fun with their theories.

Mickelson is quietly putting together a nice tournament and made the cut at -4 in the first two rounds. Kim made the cut at 1-over.
