Juventus assistant coach Landucci: We can’t blame the referee for Lazio loss

Juventus assistant coach Marco Landucci has said he won’t dwell on refereeing decisions after the loss to Lazio.

Landucci took charge as coach Max Allegri suffered from the flu.

Referring to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s debut game for Lazio, he later said, The referee decides. Juve fans would say it was a foul, Lazio fans would say no, but the only opinion that matters is that of the referee.

All I can say is our first half was below par, while we did much better after the break, deserved to score again and a draw would have been the fair result.

As usual, we accept the result on the pitch. Our defenders were in the right positions, if the referee blows his whistle then it stops there, but he didn’t. We don’t stir up controversy on these things.

Chiesa and Paredes did well on the bench, we had a good second half, but only the goal was missing and that’s not just a detail.”

The appeal against their 15-point penalty will be heard on April 19.

Landucci added: “We must always be optimistic, we are waiting for the sentence, we know that we took 59 points on the field, we officially have 44 now. We’ll wait and see.”
