Three defeats in three matches sees the Delhi Capitals staring at another unfinished season, with the David Warner-led side struggling to compete with other franchises in the league. In defeats to Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, the inability of Delhi’s batting unit was brutally exposed. Taking to Twitter, franchise president and co-owner Parth Jindal didn’t mince words while criticizing the team’s hitters for their “intent”.

In a tweet, Jindal questioned the “intention” the hitters have shown so far this season, but refused to stop believing in the team.

“3 games, 3 losses – very hard to see that @DelhiCapitals – not enough intention with batting and execution missing in some areas of the pitch – we have faith in this group – let’s regroup and start fresh from from Tuesday – I believe in this team. Go Delhi!” he wrote on the microblogging site.

After the match ended, Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner admitted the need for the team to get off to a good start, especially when chasing a tally as big as 200.

“When you’re chasing 200 you have to start well. I can’t take credit away from Trent Boult. He was really good. It’s just about executing your skills. We had a couple of kicks last night. We’re professionals. We have to find a solution. It’s frustrating to hit outfield players.

Warner also came under heavy criticism after Delhi’s third consecutive defeat. Former India and Delhi Capitals fly-half Virender Sehwag has urged the Australian to improve his strike rate or ‘stop playing in the IPL’.
