Gordon Ryan backs Israel Adesanya for UFC 287 win
Israel Adesanya had lost to Pereira three times prior to UFC 287. Despite coming close on several occasions, Adesanya simply couldn’t get the job done until last night.
After Pereira knocked out Adesanya in a kickboxing bout in Brazil, the Brazilian son mocked the champion by imitating him falling to the mat and lying cold. It looks like Adesanya hasn’t forgotten Pereira Junior’s insult.
Shortly after knocking out Pereira, Adesanya pointed his son out into the audience and mimicked the same gesture he made all those years ago.
The reel Gordon Ryan shared captured this chain of events with a simple message – Revenge is sweet.
At the post-fight press conference, the champ admitted he was mean-spirited and explained why he did this to Pereiras’ son.

After the fight, things were cordial between Pereira and Adesanya backstage. After a 7-year-long rivalry, it was hard for the striking maestros not to respect each other. During the presser, Adesanya addressed his antics.
The Last Stylebender said, I’m petty, bro. I remember the first time he [Alex Pereira] knocked me out in Brazil, and his son came in the ring, then started laying dead next to me, and I’m like, you fucking little asshole. I’ll bust you if your dad doesn’t do it for you. But then, yeah, I looked for his kid, and I pointed at him, and I saw him, and I was like, Hey, hey, hey, the motions drop*, just to remind him .
What do you think of Gordon Ryan’s sharing of the post? Do you agree with Izzy’s choice to target Pereiras’ son? How do you think Pereira will respond to all of this?
