Sheriff: The media blames the guns, not the two minors who committed a triple murder

I know all of you in the media here and viewers there have probably heard us in law enforcement or even at community events talking about the issue. And I’m going to go ahead and tackle the first thing that I know is going to come up. Because there are individuals watching and including some of you media who want to blame the one thing that doesn’t have the capacity or capacity to commit the crime itself. And that’s the gun.

These individuals committed the crime. What is the solution ? I wish I could give you that answer. Because this world would be much better.

But the fact is that society is failing. We do not hold our minors responsible. We minimize their actions. Let me tell you why I say this.

Last night I had to look into the eyes of two mothers. It’s not their fault. Because last night I saw two mothers ready to give it their all. Do everything for them and give them their own life. Because just like you and me, no matter how much we teach them because I’m a dad, I’m a dad and I can’t imagine what they were going through.

These mothers and mothers across this country need all of your help. Because here is what annoys me. I have one outlet in particular that struggles to post pictures of minors.

Now we do what the law says, we can publish these photos. I put myself in the shoes of these mothers because I heard one of them say so. I wish I knew what this one was doing and who and who they were. Because my child would never hang out with them.

And to think and believe and belittle any criminal action by a minor is a disservice, and frankly stupid to think. We have to hold them accountable and then hope that we can change them.
