Mass food poisoning allegations have rocked Spanish TV series Masterchef 11 after a guest who appeared on Monday’s episode revealed he felt unwell after a meal.
The woman took to Twitter to reveal the result, saying in her post that “out of 70 people, more than half” ended up with food poisoning.
In a four-post thread that can no longer be seen publicly after making its account private, the restaurant shared a photo with four users, recounting its post-meal experience; “All with gastroenteritis. The next night I had to go to A&E to have Primperan injected into my buttocks to stop vomiting. I lost 5 pounds in three days,” Irene explained.
The RTVE show traveled to Valencia to film outside the Oceanogrfic, where the contestants prepared a menu prepared by chef Rakel Cernicharo. The episode aired on April 10.
After cooking each of the dishes, designed as a tribute to the marine world, a total of 120 guests sat down to taste the creations of the Masterchef 11 competitors. All, aquarium workers, tasted the dishes surrounded by thousands of Pisces.
The Oceanogrfic employee continued to express her anger on Twitter; “My company informed MasterChef of what had happened. For the next few days, we were unable to go to work. Public health officials called us to investigate what had happened, but nothing happened. I’m writing this here because they didn’t even have the decency to write to us apologizing, she said in her now protected tweets.
Then the L’Oceanogrfic diner tweeted the show directly; “Thank you MasterChef for the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life. While we’re at it, I encourage you to do a little more research on MasterChef’s relationship to intensive farming.
Shine Iberia, producer of the program, responded to the controversy in a press release; “From MasterChef we are sorry for the indisposition expressed by some of the guests who attended the taping of our episode in Valencia, with whom we were in contact at all times through the Oceanogrfic, as they were part of the staff of the company.
“This is an absolutely exceptional case in these 11 years of MasterChef in Spain, a program in which guaranteeing the food care of the people who participate in it is an absolute priority.
