Photoshop maker Adobe to pay $3 million to settle bribery allegations

[ad_1]

Photoshop maker Adobe has agreed to pay $3 million to settle US bribery allegations involving sales of federal software, the US Department of Justice said in a press release. The settlement resolves allegations that Adobe made improper payments under its Solution Partner program to companies with other government relationships that enabled them to influence federal purchases of Adobe software.

Adobe paid the companies a percentage of the software’s purchase price between January 2011 and December 2020, according to the Justice Department.

Adobe reported revenue of $4.66 billion (+9%) in its fiscal 2023 first quarter ended March 3, 2023. Adobe does not disclose the size of its business with government customers across the United States.

The United States contends that these payments constituted prohibited bribes that led Adobe to submit false demands for payment to federal agencies.

Adobe said Thursday that it has been cooperating with the government since its investigation began in 2018 and is happy to have this case behind us.
