APC and PDP in counter-allegation of conspiracy to rig supplementary elections in Edo The Sun Nigeria

The allegation and counter-allegation of conspiracy to manipulate next Saturday’s supplementary elections in parts of Edo State has pitted the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) against the All Progressives Congress (APC) average in the state.

Yesterday the APC House of Assembly candidate for the Ovia South West constituency, Hon Sunday Aghedo, sounded the alarm that the two Election Officers (EOs) deployed to conduct the supplementary elections in the region were allegedly compromised by the Edo State government with the sum of N5 million each.

Aghedo, in a press release, said Obaseki had shown his desperation to ensure his party won the constituency by any means possible.

PDP State Chairman Dr Tony Aziegbemi, also in a statement, accused the APC of planning to unleash chaos during the Saturday runoffs in the state and called on security agencies to be vigilant.

Reports across the state suggest the APC is gathering another set of evil to wreak havoc on April 15, 2023, which was slated for byelections in the remaining three state House of Assembly seats. , and a seat in the House of Representatives, which was once declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Their desperation to win more seats in the State House of Assembly was watched and witnessed by some of their party loyalists who revealed their orchestrated plans to deploy thugs to perpetrate violence and intimidate voters in the state. Aziegbemi also alleged that the APC planned to import thugs from some South West states to cause a crisis and disrupt the election.
