Speaking to KTLA Frank Buckley on the Frank Buckley Interviews podcast recently, Piven, who is making his return to Hollywood in Sweetwater, said the allegations forced him to “take ownership of his life” and reiterated that he doesn’t had “nothing to hide”.

He said, ‘When you’re on stage getting up, you’re in your truth. And because I’m in my truth, and I have nothing to hide. And so you can’t seek justice and spend your life pining for that stuff.

He said he channeled his talents into stand-up comedy, as well as spending time with his mother and meditating as he tried to achieve “balance” in his life.

Piven added: “As the great Martin Luther King said, no lie can last forever.” I know probably your producers or someone else is looking for a soundbite, but that’s not about it.

“It’s about taking ownership of your life, and when you know your truth, you can take the stage anywhere when you have nothing to hide.

Piven was charged with five allegations of sexual misconduct in 2017.

BAFTA and Emmy winner Piven was reportedly an “emotional wreck” because of the claims.

Piven was accused on Twitter of sexual harassment and assault by 38-year-old actress Ariane Bellamar in late October 2017 who claimed the star groped her twice, once in her trailer on the set of Entourage and the other at the Playboy mansion.

This was followed by actress Cassidy Freeman who said on her Instagram page that Piven engaged in “predatory behavior” against her when she was “far too young”.

And then two more women came forward accusing the Emmy-winning actor of sexual assault and harassment.

Washington-based advertising executive Tiffany Bacon Scourby, 39, and Hawaii-based porn star Isis Taylor both say Piven attacked or harassed them.

Piven denied all of the sexual assault allegations saying they “are absolutely untrue and completely fabricated”.

The actor played acerbic Hollywood agent Ari Gold on the HBO series Entourage from 2004 to 2011 and the widely criticized 2015 film.

Piven released a statement refuting Bellamar’s claims at the time.

“I unequivocally deny the appalling allegations peddled about me. That did not happen,” the statement read.

“It takes a lot of courage for victims to tell their story, and I hope the allegations about me that didn’t happen don’t detract from the stories that should be heard,” the statement added.
