Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says Chelsea are in bad shape so there’s nothing wrong with club owners talking to players.
Ancelotti said Todd Boehly even has the right to criticize players in the dressing room after games, especially when they haven’t performed well.
Following their Premier League loss to Brighton on Saturday, Boehly walked into the club’s dressing room and called Chelsea’s current situation embarrassing as he addressed the players.
Reports in England say the American also slammed a senior Chelsea player after their 12th loss of the season saw him languish in 11th place in the Premier League table.
Caretaker manager Frank Lampard has not won or drawn for Chelsea since returning to Stamford Bridge, losing all three matches he was responsible for, ahead of the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash with Real Madrid at Stamford. Brown on Tuesday.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Stamford Bridge showdown, Ancelotti believes Boehly should be allowed to deliver his verdict directly to the Chelsea squad.
From the owners, this could be an important motivation for the players, Ancelotti said.
Chelsea’s moment is not a good moment, I think having the club’s support could inspire players to play better.
I think it’s a good thing to do that and if the clubs want to come and talk to the players, I have no problem, absolutely.
The Italian added that he wouldn’t mind if Madrid president Fiorentino Perez decides to talk to Los Blancos every game.
