But if not, nutritionist Lovneet Batra recently shared some possible reasons that could trigger those unwanted hunger pangs.

Below are the reasons that can possibly make you hungry all the time. They are:

Not eating enough protein. Protein has hunger reducing properties, it works by increasing the production of hormones that signal satiety and reducing the levels of hormones that stimulate hunger.

Not slept enough. Getting enough sleep is an appetite control factor because it helps regulate the appetite-stimulating hormone ghrelin.

Eating too many refined carbohydrates. Refined carbohydrates lack fiber and cause blood sugar fluctuations. which are the main reasons why eating too much can make you hungry.

Your diet lacks fiber. High fiber intake triggers the production of fatty chain fatty acids, which causes a feeling of fullness in the body

Drink your calories. One of the main reasons for this is that liquids pass through your stomach faster than solid foods. Therefore, liquid foods do not have such a strong impact on suppressing hunger-promoting hormones.

Too much stress. Stress increases the level of cortisol, a hormone that promotes hunger and food cravings.

Medical condition. Excessive hunger is often a symptom of a few other conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PMS.

Speaking to indianexpress.com, Dr. G Sushma, Consultant Clinical Dietitian, CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, said various reasons like skipping meals, not getting enough protein and fiber, not drinking enough water, lack of sleep, stress and anxiety, among others. can make you hungry all the time.

When trying to curb hunger, it’s important to keep in mind that it’s natural to feel hungry between meals and it’s okay to eat healthy snacks in moderation. It’s also important to avoid restrictive diets or skipping meals, as this can lead to overeating later. Listening to your body’s hunger cues and fueling it with nutritious foods can help regulate hunger and promote overall health, Dr. Sushma shared.

How to Avoid Being Hungry All the Time

Dr. Sushma shared tips to avoid being constantly hungry. They are:

Eat foods high in protein and fiber: These foods will keep you feeling full longer and reduce the frequency of hunger pangs.

Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to make sure you don’t confuse thirst with hunger.

Get enough sleep: Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night to regulate hormones that control hunger.
