Peter Obi: Allegation of withdrawal of petitions is false – Arabambi

…Said ‘we support Obi’s mission to get his mandate back’

Former Labor Party (LP) National Publicity Secretary Dr Arabambi Abayomi has said there is no truth to the alleged plan to halt petitions filed by the party’s candidate, Peter Obi, before the courts of electoral petitions.

Recall that the Acting National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, had alleged that the suspended National Legal Adviser, Samuel Akingbade, had written to the courts asking for the motions to be quashed.

But Arabambi, in a statement, challenged National President Julius Abure, to produce a copy of the letter of undertaking signed by Lamidi Apapa, or any other person, “to the lawyer who filed the lawsuit, as well as a copy of the completed lawsuit to discontinue the motion our presidential candidate filed in court.

He said his group supports the mission of the presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, “to recover the mandate freely given to him and to our party in the presidential election and the National Assembly of February 25, 2023”.

Arabambi described Abure’s allegation as “cheap blackmail to gain public sympathy in order to cover up his…trail”, adding that it was an “orchestrated plan to incite violence and to chaos in order to make Nigeria ungovernable”.
