Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Singh, who refuted all allegations made by the group of wrestlers against him on Friday, has ‘welcomed’ the Supreme Court’s directive to Delhi police to record a first information report (FIR), claiming that he will not escape the probe, and will spare no effort to “cooperate” in the case.

The BJP MP further said: FIR must have already been filed. I obeyed the law, so I will continue. The Supreme Court hears the case. I did not escape. I am at residence.

Brij Bhushan’s remarks came hours after he released a defiant statement, saying he will “embrace death the day I feel helpless (and) no longer have the strength to fight”.

Friends, the day when I introspect what I have won or lost, and feel that I no longer have the strength to fight; the day i feel helpless, i will wish death because i will not live a life like that. Instead of living such a life, I would like death to hug me, Bhushan said in the video.

Meanwhile, the protesting wrestlers said they would continue their protest against Brij Bhushan even as an FIR was filed against him, adding that the FIR was the first step towards ‘victory’. The protesters have vowed to spend nights at the Jantar Mantar encampment until action is taken against him.

In the past five days, five lakh has been spent on the makeshift arrangement including mattresses, sheets, fans, speakers, microphones, generator, water, food, etc. .
