Protesting wrestlers make big allegations

India’s top wrestlers under the leadership of Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik protest against Indian Wrestling Federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Seven female wrestlers filed a written complaint against the WFI Chairman for sexual assault at Connaught Place Police Station in New Delhi and an FIR was also filed for the same after the Supreme Court intervened in the case.

In a new press conference made by the wrestlers at Jantar Mantar, they told reporters that their information was leaked and questioned Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for the same. Wrestler Bajrang Punia said at the press conference, “Some people are trying to change the motive of our protest and we strongly condemn it. We have gathered here for the girls of our nation and girls’ justice comes long before the policy.”

“We learned that some people say that us wrestlers don’t need to play nationals. I would like to tell everyone that I only jumped four nationals and it was for valid reasons. J I have worked very hard and I have also played many nationals and will continue to do so as well,” said Bajrang Punia.
