“When you show that you’re an insurgent, that you’re a liar, that you’re a bigot, that you’re a racist, that you’re sexist, that you’ve been indicted twice, that you’re currently a defendant in criminal and likely to be a criminal defendant in two other jurisdictions and you grab women by the genitals,” she began. “I know everything I need to know about you.

CNN on Monday announced a live town hall event with Trump in New Hampshire on May 10 at 8 p.m.

According to the network’s spokesperson, “This town hall is part of a long-standing CNN tradition of hosting major presidential candidates for town halls and political events as part of the robust campaign coverage of the CNN is no stranger to these types of events, and this town hall will be the first in a long line of 2024 elections.

“I always thought town halls were about letting us know a candidate what they stand for,” Whoopi Goldberg said. “So what’s the point of this new town hall doing it?”

“And have we learned nothing from [Leslie] Moonves, bad for the country but good for the network?” she added.

The host was referring to the former CBS Corporation chairman and CEO, who claimed that the 2016 Trump campaign “may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS.”

Hostin further expressed his disbelief “that they’re giving him that platform.”

However, Joy Behar doesn’t necessarily feel the same way. “I can’t stand it, as you know, but it’s the Republican Party favorite,” she explained.

“Let them. This is a free country. This is America. Let him go over there and let him show the American people again that he is a sociopath,” she said. declared.

According to Behar, “a sociopath is incapable of empathy. It will pass.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin disagreed with Hostin, noting that what the 2024 nominee has to say is in “vital public interest.”

“I find it extraordinary that a guy who’s had such a vitriolic response to this network, and networks that weren’t embracing him behind, that he’s now going to those networks and saying, ‘hey, here’s who I am.’ I find that interesting, man,” Goldberg said of Trump’s unexpected working relationship with CNN.

Goldberg added, “The other sad thing for me is once you put this guy in place, and you kind of say, ‘He’s the favorite,’ it sounds like you’re saying,” and no one else will be there. ”

“You normalize it and you legitimize it,” Hostin said.

The Washington Examiner can confirm that this CNN offer is made to prominent candidates, including Trump, in every presidential election cycle.

The Trump campaign did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for confirmation.
