LAHORE: The interim government of Punjab has denied the allegation by former Chief Minister and President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pervaiz Elahi, ARY News reported.
According to interim Punjab government spokesman Amir Mir, former Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi’s allegations are baseless.
He said accusing the police of theft from his home is nothing short of a joke as the police did not take anything from Pervaiz Elahis’s home.
Information Minister Amir Mir said only those who threw stones at police were arrested. Several people have already recorded their statements before the anti-corruption establishment.
The statements revealed that former Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi received a large sum as commission and based on these allegations an FIR was registered against him. Pervaiz Elahi should avoid lying, Punjab’s information minister added.

Earlier, Pakistani President Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Pervaiz Elahi accused the interim Punjab government of stealing money and mobile phones during a raid on his home by Punjab police.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab Police have charged former Punjab Chief Minister and PTI Chairman Chaudhry Perviaz Elahi with terrorism charges following an overnight raid on his home.
The case was registered against the former chief minister and 50 others at the Lahores Ghalib market police station. The FIR includes Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 and has 13 other counts relating to attempted murder, rioting and assaulting government officials.
