Army Warns Imran Khan of Legal Action: Malicious Allegations Regrettable

[ad_1]

Pakistan’s military raged against former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, saying Pakistani leader Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) made highly irresponsible and baseless allegations against a senior serving officer without any evidence .

This fabricated and malicious allegation is extremely unfortunate, deplorable and unacceptable. It has been a consistent trend over the past year, where military and intelligence agency officials are targeted with innuendo and sensational propaganda in pursuit of political goals, Inter-Services Public Relations said ( ISPR) in a press release.

We call on the concerned political leader to resort to legal channels and stop making false allegations.

The ISPR further stated that the institution reserves the right to take legal action against manifestly false and dishonest statements and propaganda.

The statement came after Imran Khan earlier today questioned whether military officers were above the law as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lambasted him for regularly slandering [the] Pakistani army and intelligence agency.

Shehbaz had criticized Imran and said: Imran Niazi’s act of regularly slandering and threatening the Pakistani military and intelligence agency for petty political gain is highly condemnable.

His allegations without any evidence against General Faisal Naseer and the officers of our intelligence agency cannot be allowed and will not be tolerated, Shehbaz added.
