Jimmie Allen is speaking out after his former daily manager filed a lawsuit against the country singer claiming he repeatedly sexually assaulted and abused her over an 18-month period.

Jimmie Allen releases a statement

In a statement obtained by Variety, Allen called the allegations deeply troubling and hurtful. The Delaware native, who was married to Alexis Gale at the time of the alleged rape and other sexual encounters, admitted to having a sexual relationship with the complainant. He claimed it was consensual.

It is deeply disturbing and hurtful that someone I counted among my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them, Allen said in the statement. I admit that we had a sexual relationship that lasted almost two years. During that time, she never accused me of wrongdoing and she spoke about our relationship and our friendship as something she wanted to continue indefinitely.

He went on to say that the complainant’s accusations are false and extremely damaging.

It wasn’t until after things between us ended that she hired a lawyer to reach out and ask for money, which makes me question her motives, he explained. The simple fact is that his accusations are not only false, but also extremely damaging. I have worked incredibly hard to build my career, and I intend to mount a vigorous defense against his claims and take all other legal steps necessary to protect my reputation.

According to a lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe Thursday, May 11, in federal court in Tennessee and obtained by Variety, Allen is accused of manipulating and grooming the plaintiff into an 18-month sexually abusive relationship. She reportedly sued Allen, the management company, Wide Open Music, and Ash Bowers, founder of Wide Open Music.

Jimmie Allen is being sued for sexual assault, assault, forcible confinement, sex trafficking and emotional distress. While Bowers and Wide Open Music are being sued for gross negligence and participating in a business engaged in sex trafficking, among other charges, according to the outlet.

Allen allegedly assaulted this woman while they were traveling together, fondling her breasts on the plane, pushing his erect penis against her body in public and masturbating in front of her at the hotel where they were both staying. Once they left the recording and got into the car, she says he dug his fingers into her vagina as she tried to pull her hand away, the publication reported.

Would have taken place over a period of 18 months

The events allegedly took place in the 24 hours prior to her appearance on The Ellen Show in May 2021.

The lawsuit also says her former manager claimed to have raped her by choking her, sexually assaulting her at red lights on business trips, and viewing pornography on her work computer. Jane Doe also told the outlet that on many occasions she said no to sex and often pushed Allen away.

After being forced to have sex with Allen, Jane Doe reported that she was bleeding regularly, crying uncontrollably, and running to the bathroom to vomit. The accuser also told the outlet that Allen filmed many of their sexual encounters in an effort to blackmail her into keeping quiet.

The woman, who is in her early 20s and was employed by singers’ management company Freedom Is A Highway, Wide Open Music, as a day-to-day manager, claims she reported the verbal harassment to Bowers on multiple occasions. She says she also spoke to Bowers about the alleged rape and sexual abuse. At that time, Wide Open Music allegedly dropped Allen as a client and also fired her, according to the lawsuit.

[Jane Doe] was Mr. Allen’s day-to-day manager, Bowers said in a statement obtained by Variety. Once Wide Open Music no longer managed Mr. Allen, that role disappeared and, moreover, [the company] got completely out of artist management.
