Amitabh Bachchan is his son Abhishek Bachchan’s biggest cheerleader. Big B often tweets in favor of Abhishek and defends him on the sidelines. That’s exactly what happened in 2010, when Abhishek starred alongside his wife Aishwarya Rai in director Mani Ratnams Raavan, filmmakers’ Hindi version Raavanan, in which Vikram played the central role. A few days after the films were released, Amitabh blogged about how the editing choices were to blame for the films’ poor reviews, some of which also criticized Abhisheks’ performance.

Many deserved films were edited out, causing inconsistent performances and storytelling. Abhisheks’ erratic behavior was due to the visual appearance of 10 symbolic heads and each giving him different attitudes to adopt for a situation, he would then finally shake them off and decide. . In the edit, all visual heads have been cut off and you see a confused expression of Beera and wonder why? Amitabh wrote following the film’s release, adding that he was impressed with the presentation.

According to a Mid-Day report, Mani Ratnam was quoted as saying in a Tamil weekly, That’s his opinion. I do not care. And I’m not here in the industry to get Amitabh Bachchan ratings. We made a film after two years of hard work. Anyone can comment on it.

Speaking to Mid-Day, film editor A Sreekar Prasad said Amitabh was entitled to his opinion and explained the intensive creative process that followed editing the films. Prasad said: As a member of the public, he (Amitabh Bachchan) has the right to say whatever he wants. We’ve been editing Raavan for a year and a half. I went through the images with Mani so rigorously. We were probably in the best position to judge what was good for the movie. He added: The director chose to start the story on a very high note. It starts with the abduction and continues straight through to the finale. We had no overhead, no explanation, and no character establishment. We chose to tell our story this way. We didn’t want to spoon-feed the audience. Mr. Bachchan wanted us to show ten heads graphically. Mani and I tried this. But we have consciously decided not to enter this area. We decided to let the audience get inside the characters’ heads as the story progressed. I’m sure there are a lot of people who didn’t get the point. But it was a risk worth taking. Because a certain section understood.

Cinematographer Santosh Sivan also reacted to the controversy and told news agency PTI that I personally believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. At the end of the day, it’s the call of the administrators. It’s a different take on Raavanan which is a huge hit in the South.

Vikram, who recently reunited with Aishwarya Rai and Mani Ratnam for the two Ponniyin Selvan movies, said according to PTI, I respect Mr. Bachchan and I respect Mani sir. It’s not something I can comment on because it’s between Mani sir and him, even if you can hear a hundred things, some say it’s good, others say it’s bad. You (the audience) decide. There is and always will be respect and dignity for him (Mani Ratnam) the media playing with words. Mani is one of our best directors, he should never stop making movies.

The Hindi Raavan made less than Rs 50 crore and was considered a commercial disappointment. The Tamil version is generally considered the best film and was successful in Southern markets.
