Rantz: After Washington reparations law, Democrats promise more racist agendas

[ad_1]

Washington Democrats have passed what is believed to be the first statewide reparations bill in the United States. It offers an undeserved advantage to first-time buyers based on race, to apologize for a racist history that the recipients of the bill never experienced. But Democrats say they won’t stop there; they want more racial exclusion programs.

Prior to 1968, minorities in Washington suffered racial covenants that limited certain housing in neighborhoods to whites. Among the groups affected were black Washingtonians. To apologize for historic racism, Governor Jay Inslee signed into law Bill 1474. It levies an additional $100 fee on all home purchases to fund a home loan program for first-time buyers. House. This impacts people of all races, making home ownership even more expensive than it is.

But to qualify, in addition to buying your first home, you must either have been a resident of Washington before 1968 or be a descendant of someone who lived here before 1968. You must also be a member of a group that has been affected by racial pacts.

Washington’s reparations law benefits people who aren’t victims

Although other groups, such as Jews, were affected, this home loan repair program was specifically touted as a way to apologize to the black community.

It is unlikely that someone who was directly affected by race pacts before 1968 would be a first-time home buyer who would qualify for these home loans. This effectively means that a distant relative in their twenties of someone who lived in Washington before 1968 would qualify for access to a home loan based on skin color, even if they don’t never knew the kind of fanaticism that kept him out. of certain neighborhoods or the purchase of a house.

Democrats argue that these young first-time homebuyers have special access to loans because they lost the generational wealth of family members who couldn’t buy homes. But they also say discrimination against black home buyers continues in Washington today, though they didn’t mention which home loan provider discriminates against black residents. They also don’t explain why Attorney General Bob Ferguson didn’t file a lawsuit against them.

Instead, Democrats are relying on the tired “disproportionality” argument that implies racism is at the root of why black ownership lags behind white ownership.

Democrats argue race should be a factor – as long as you’re not white

The bill takes the obscene position that “race-neutral approaches are insufficient to remedy” housing discrimination defined simply as the fact that there are not as many black homeowners as there are white . Democrats argue that “race-informed programs…are needed to address past discrimination in which the state was complicit and to remove remaining structural barriers.” In other words, Washington Democrats say they won’t stop at a one-time home loan repair program. They want to explicitly violate non-discrimination laws to give certain races access to taxpayer-paid benefits over whites.

Democrats could opt to help low-income Washingtonians who have the same struggle to afford homeownership. A low-income white couple will have the same difficulties as a low-income black couple. But Democrats only care about a couple’s fight because it’s about punishing white people for historic racism they aren’t responsible for.

Democrats believe that our society and institutions are rooted in white supremacy and that white people enjoy unearned privilege regardless of their socio-economic status.

For revenge, as if driven by some kind of racist bloodlust, is to assume that all black people are victims and offer them their own undeserved privilege. Washington Democrats fail to recognize the irony of countering historical racism with current racism, especially when advocated by black lawmakers who have risen remarkably to positions of power and influence in a society and an institution. which they describe as a tool of white supremacy.

And supporters, like Inslee, make no secret that this is a racist response based on a historically racist practice.

“We’re going to use the same system that allowed homeownership bias and prejudice to do good and help people get homes,” Inslee said at a signing event. law Project.

The new stock movement

Motivated by revenge for a racist past, Democrats in Washington — and their activist allies nationwide — are once again redefining fairness.

Previously, equity meant having equal access. That regardless of our race, we should have equal access to the same resources and services, such as a home loan. But this system does not punish whites the way blacks were punished when racism was inherent in our society. Washington Democrats, with reparations and other initiatives, have redefined fairness to mean equal outcomes. And if blacks were to suffer racism, so did whites.

While conveying their radical and hateful views, they create the very division that tears communities apart. They create resentment, which keeps groups at odds. And who could blame a low-income white couple for feeling resentful? They are kept out of a mortgage program that they could benefit from because of their skin color. It would be one thing if this white couple were responsible for racist policies making home ownership impossible, but their only sin is being white in a state run by radical Democrats.

The society’s dream was to treat everyone the same, regardless of race. Like most Americans – except the racist – I liked that idea. But then the radical Democrats took over. Now the dream is to punish white people who have done nothing wrong and assume that all black people are victims. Then responsible Democrats rejoice.
