SSGKobe was dropped from his record label following sexual assault allegations made against the 19-year-old rapper in late 2022.
Taking to his Instagram Story on Sunday, May 28, Kobe acknowledged that he has been keeping a low profile both in music and his online presence since the accusations that his team advised him against it. But he wants to speak out because he feels he has been completely denounced and publicly tarnished.
Hi guys. I haven’t really addressed the whole situation publicly and that’s mainly because the team advised me not to, I wish I had said something sooner but I’m talking about it today, a he wrote. There were no cases, and my name was completely trampled on and publicly tarnished.
A misconception of future relationships and the feeling of being dragged down may have caused some hurt, which is understandable, but in the end things were twisted to the public and basically had a negative impact on my career and my mental state. I want to apologize to my fans for not communicating things properly because a lot has happened in my life. I love all my fans and I want to keep changing the world with my music.
He continued: In regards to music, I am currently unsigned to a label due to the accusations, which is another reason for the drop delay that will change as soon as possible. I appreciate the support and love I have received and look forward to giving you a project that I feel you will love. Have a nice day.

The alleged victim, an artist named Ka$hkenni, filed the charges in late December and claimed the rising rapper (real name Tyreek Solomon Pelleri) forced her to have sex with him in a soundproof studio month previous.
In a post shared by NoJumper a few weeks later, the MIA rapper denied the allegations against him and said his parents raised him to always respect women.

As there has been a lot of information and misinformation about me, I feel the need to address my fans, Kobe began. My parents raised me to always respect women, I practice this every day and I will continue to live my life respecting this. Unfortunately, a private case of consensual sex between two consenting adults turned into a public defamatory case against me.
He continued: The picture painted is not based on facts. I apologize that my desire not to have a long term relationship with someone was not properly communicated by me resulting in a false sharing of events. I will leave this matter to be dealt with in more detail by my legal team.
Ka$hkenni previously detailed the alleged incident in a series of Instagram posts, while adding several screenshots of a text exchange between SSGKobe and her before and after the alleged assault. (Ka$hkennis’ Instagram account has since been deleted.)
The Louisiana-born rapper shot to fame last year with his song Thrax, which went viral on TikTok and landed him his now-defunct contract with Columbia Records.
