The Drama and Film Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy held a three-day Theater Appreciation Course on Drama Criticism from Sunday to Tuesday at its Digital Archive Center.
Theater activists, students from different universities and journalists participated in the three-day course, led by actor, director and writer Tariq Anam Khan.
“Theatre is a composite art. A good theatrical production is the result of ideas, effort and artistic expression. Theater criticism can play an important role in the development of theater practice,” said Tariq Anam Khan, who also presented certificates to participants at the closing ceremony on Tuesday.
“A good theater critic highlights both the strengths and weaknesses of a theatrical production. Critics should view a theatrical performance sensibly and write about it impartially,” he added.
