USMNT beat Mexico 3-0 on Thursday night at Allegiant Stadium in the Concacaf Nations League semi-finals, the first time the United States have beaten El Tri by three or more goals since 2000 and everyone deserves a game blame, tonight, the blame has been shared.
Mexican head coach Diego Cocca, the players and even the referees have something to do with El Tri’s poor performance.

The Stars & Stripes advance to the tournament final against Canada, while El Tri take on Panama in a match for third place.
Perhaps the only good thing about the result for Mexico is that the infamous “dos a cero” was not the final score. The Americans can now boast of having won 3-0.
Another positive factor is that there is no 2026 World Cup qualification at stake as it is a ‘home’ participant, but there is a long list of negatives.
Mexico goes from bad to worse
Cocca’s squad left a lot to be desired due to in-form players such as Sebastian Cordoba, Oziel Herrera and Santiago Gimenez being snubbed from the roster.
Club America striker Henry Martin was Mexico’s front man despite his recent failures in Liga MX.
Uriel Antuna no longer shines for El Tri like he does with Cruz Azul and the Mexican defenders continue to decline. Guillermo Ochoa continues to get playing time despite clearly being a bad option.
Cocca’s strategy was put to the test early in the second half when USMNT scored the second goal of the night. He waited long after that to make his first substitutions.
Referee adds 12 minutes to game amid poor job
Elements like Edson Alvarez, Orbelin Pineda and Jesus Gallardo are walking on thin ice and the rest are embroiled in a circle of frustration that Cesar Montes, Gerardo Arteaga and Santi Gimenez know all too well.
The official added fuel to the fire with a terrible whistle night, including ejections that seemed to compensate for other red cards.
Twelve minutes of stoppage time were added despite the game spiraling out of control and Mexican fans began chanting the inexcusable homophobic word often heard in Liga MX matches.
Alvarez begged the official to end the game and he did so with five minutes of added time remaining.
