The conversation surrounding Gunnas’ plea deal in the YSL RICO case needs no explanation or summary. That being said, the debate has certainly taken on a new lease of life online thanks to his latest album A Gift and a Curse, which addresses many of these accusations on wax. Of course, it’s not in a particularly detailed or named way, but the College Park MC digs deeper into his emotions surrounding this situation and how aroused he feels. However, Taxstone is the latest figure in the hip-hop world to suggest he deserves all the criticism. Additionally, the podcaster posted a series of tweets offering his take on the matter.

The sad shit about gunna plea is he probably didn’t even know what he was doing, he was probably just trying to run the spot, he added on Sunday, June 18.

Regardless of the extremes to which both sides go to prove a point, the video of Gunna testifying in court made it much more ambiguous for many. Despite all the backlash, Gunna maintains that he didn’t cooperate and that people misrepresented his actions. Interestingly enough, Taxstone himself is currently in jail for shooting Troy Aves’ bodyguard. After many legal and social back and forths, Ave celebrated winning the case while mourning her lost friend.

To all my real ones who have ridden with & for me, today is the day I can finally clear my name, he wrote on Instagram. It’s been almost 7 years since I lost one of my closest friends #RIPBANGA. 7 years of a story about it being my fault, 7 years of murdering my character while trying to defend myself without saying much! At my weakest points I drew strength from GOD! drew strength from my children and drew strength from Yall. For more on Taxstone and Gunna, stay informed on HNHH.
