Chris Christie fires back at Trump for his weighty criticism

[ad_1]

Donald Trump’s disparaging comments about Chris Christies’ weight did little to despise the former New Jersey governor, who instead hit back on Sunday’s edition of “MediaBuzz, Oh, like he’s an Adonis?

Once Trump started hitting you back on multiple fronts, he took aim at your weight. What was your reaction to that? Fox News’ Howard Kurtz asked Christie, who announced on June 6 that he was throwing his hat in the 2024 presidential election.

Oh, like it was an Adonis? I mean please, Christie replied, earning a chuckle from Kurtz. Christie added that there are tens of millions of Americans like him who struggle with their weight and strive to get better every day, saying, “I keep struggling and I keep trying. to do better.”

The former governor went on to say that his weight was no barrier to serving his elected terms from 2010 to 2018 as he responded to Hurricane Sandy and worked more than 20 hours a day.

“What does this have to do with my skill for the office?” Christie asked. “I ran the governorship of New Jersey for eight years, I think, in a very forceful and successful way.”

I don’t know what he means, continued Christie. “It’s like a child, a bully in the schoolyard who teases you and makes fun of you. But here’s my message to him: I don’t care what he says about me and I don’t care what what he thinks of me.

Christie also encouraged Trump to avoid throwing rocks from his own glass house. “He should look in the mirror once in a while, maybe he’ll take the weight off his critics list.”

Christie, whose loyalty to Trump has taken an abrupt turn in recent years, took aim at the former president when he announced his candidacy for the 2024 election, calling Trump a “bitter, angry man”.
