Elon Musk wants people to stop being so addicted to Twitter, and the billionaire has continued to roll out new rules and measures, most of them quite controversial and hated by users.
In addition to the controversial change of having to pay to be verified (unless you have over a million followers) and massive company layoffs, there’s now a new rule: limit the number of tweets a user can tweet. can read per day.
This was announced by Elon Musk himself on his Twitter profile on Saturday morning, shortly after users woke up to find their accounts restricted.
“To deal with extreme levels of data recovery and system manipulation, we have applied the following timeframes,” the South African said on Twitter.
What are the daily limits on the number of tweets that can be read per day by each user on Twitter?
Musk had to change the final number up to three times due to harsh reviews from its users. He broke down the number of tweets users can see each day by whether or not they are verified in his opening monologue.
“Verified accounts were first limited to reading 6,000 posts per day, then 8,000 and finally 10,000. Unverified accounts, 600 posts/day then 800 to drop to 1000. New unverified accounts, 300/day, then 400 and finally settling at 500.” he added.
Many users are already struggling to use the app as a result of the changes.
“Sorry, you’ve reached your throughput limit. Wait a few seconds and try again”, or “An error occurred. Try to reload” were some of the messages they received.
This measure should be one of the most controversial. Despite the number of tweets, some users will find this volume of tweets per day too low.
