Tom told DailyMail.com in May that he “still loves” his ex-wife Luann despite his engagement to Danielle Rollins.
‘I am engaged to someone very elegant, very calm: quite the opposite [of Luann]” Tom told DailyMail.com during the Drag Story Hour event at Hutong Restaurant’s Shanghai Bar.
“We got engaged last year. She’s very southern, very feminine,” he continued.
Tom popped the question to Danielle on New Year’s Eve 2021 – the date that would have been his sixth wedding anniversary to Luann, whom he split from in August 2017 after less than a year of marriage.
And while Tom may believe his current relationship suits him better than his romance with Luann, he still had some nice things to say about his former wife.
“I love Luann. I wouldn’t have married her if I hadn’t… [although] they say they love blindly,” he joked.
“Standing back and watching it was a lot of fun – we had a lot of fun while it lasted.”
As to why his ex-wife has yet to find a partner of her own, Tom said he thinks her celebrity status may well put off potential suitors – explaining he feels she has changed since she had reached the dizzying heights of fame.
“There’s not enough oxygen in the room,” he said. “It’s very, very difficult to be with a two-faced woman. The original Luann came from Connecticut. She was an amazing, strong person, but fame got to her.

In her wedding speech, Luann told their 250 guests who attended the wedding in West Palm Beach, “When Tom walks into a room, my heart skips a beat – I’m so proud to be Tom’s wife.”
Months before their wedding, Luann moved into Tom’s $1.5 million apartment on the Upper East Side.
Luann divorced her first husband, Count Alexander de Lesseps in 2009. The former couple share two children, Victoria, 28, and Noel, 27.
Having held the title of countess during her marriage, Luann lost her aristocratic title when she married Tom in 2016.
