Mohameds challenges Reuters to produce evidence to support the allegations

[ad_1]

The following statement was released today by Nazar Mohamed and Azruddin Mohamed in connection with a Reuters report

The Mohameds take note of a Reuters special report titled US Probing Exxon Contractor in Guyana for Smuggling Drugs, Gold dated July 14, 2023.

The report printed by Reuters is defamatory of the character and reputation of Mr Nazar Mohamed and his son Azruddin Mohamed.

A quick read of the report reveals that it is a repeat and regurgitation of the now widely accepted discredited report by Bram Ebus published on September 14, 2020.

The report is grounded and riddled with unverified and unsubstantiated claims that the Mohameds are under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Homeland Security and other U.S. agencies on suspicion of smuggling Colombian cocaine and illegally mined Venezuelan gold to the United States, Europe, and the Middle East and laundering money for drug traffickers and criminals, including sanctioned Russian nationals operating in the region

The Mohameds reject the alleged sources mentioned in the defamatory report and the reckless use of sources as the basis of the entire report.

The Mohameds categorically deny that they are under any investigation by US authorities. In response to a request from Reuters to respond to these baseless allegations, the Mohameds not only specifically denied the allegations, but challenged Reuters to produce any evidence to support the allegations made in the report.

The article revealed that Reuters had failed to do so.

The Mohameds reiterate and maintain their challenge to Reuters to produce any information to support the validity of these allegations.

The Mohameds are surprised and amazed that a seemingly reputable international news agency is publishing such devoid allegations.

It is disappointing that Reuters allows itself to be the tool of disinformation and the agent of the detractors of Muhammad.

The Muhammads view this report as a most despicable diabolical and botched ax job, published with the primary intent of giving the impression that the Muhammads are in conflict with US law enforcement.

The tone, tenor and content of the report are clearly aimed at lowering Mohamed’s esteem in the eyes of Guyanese, the international community, and destroying their business relationships, integrity and credentials.

In conclusion, we remain fully committed to complying with the law and conducting our business activities with the highest standards of legitimacy and integrity.
