West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar said on Monday that TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s claim that family members and other acquaintances had been appointed OSD to Raj Bhavan was “falsely flawed” and described as a “distraction strategy” to distract from the “alarming law and order situation” in the state. He said six officers on special duty were not his immediate family.
“@MahuaMoitra’s claim in tweets and media that six OSDs simultaneously appointed to personal staff are parents is MELT WRONG. OSDs come from three states and belong to four different castes. None of them do. part of close family. Four of them are not from my caste or state, “Dhankhar said on Twitter.
“This is the deployment of a ‘distraction strategy’ to divert attention from the alarming law and order scenario @MamataOfficial,” he said.

The governor also declared that he “would continue undeterred and zealously to serve the people of the state and to justify my oath under Article 159 of the Constitution”.
Moitra had addressed Dhankhar on Sunday as “uncle-ji” and alleged that family members and other acquaintances had been appointed OSD to Raj Bhavan.
Visiting the microblogging site, Moitra had shared a list of names – OSD to Governor Abbhudoy Singh Sekhawat, OSD-coordination Akhil Chowdhury, OSD-administration Ruchi Dubey, OSD-protocol Prasant Diksit, OSD-IT Koustav S Valikar and OSD newly named Kishan Dhankar.
The TMC MP also said that Sekhawat was the son of Dhankhar’s brother-in-law, and that Ruchi Dubey and Prasant Diksit were the wife and brother of his former aide-de-camp (ADC) Major Gorang Diksit respectively.
Valikar is the brother-in-law of current ADC Janardan Rao, while Kishan Dhankar is another close relative of the governor, Moitra added.
