Remove it or face legal action.
That’s the warning from a lawyer representing the Republican candidate for Schuylkill County Sheriff.
As we previously reported, candidate Doug Litwhiler has been the subject of a Facebook group claiming to have sent inappropriate messages to several women.
However, his lawyer claims the messages are completely false.
On Monday, Anthony Kodack received a letter from lawyer Joe Orso warning him to delete a Facebook page he created.
The page is filled with alleged screenshot messages, according to Kodack, according to sheriff candidate Litwhiler, sent to several women in Schuylkill County.
I don’t back down. I took it as another scare tactic, ”Kodack said.
Litwhiler won the county sheriff’s Republican primary on May 18.
Kodack created the page a day later after saying a woman he knew told him Litwhiler had sent him inappropriate messages in the past. He posted the screenshots, the page quickly gained followers, and more and more women sent Kodack their own alleged screenshots claiming the same behavior.
However, Orso claims this is an orchestrated attempt to ruin Litwhiler’s reputation.
We reported some time ago about this Facebook page which contains libelous and false material. This was done, in our view, under the direction of the sheriff or his campaign, ”Orso said.
Kodack claims that all of the women whose post he shared contacted him and provided him with the alleged messages and that it was not part of a deliberate plan.
But Orso disagrees.
We have proof that they are not true. That’s why we were proceeding with the litigation, ”Orso said.
Orso wants Kodack to remove the page by Wednesday or hell to proceed with legal options.
If you’re going to sue me, sue me. Let’s go to court. were ready, “Kodack said.
If there was no political basis for these messages, the threat of a lawsuit would be enough for most people to suppress the message. The fact that they’re not removing the post, in fact, proves our case, ”Orso said.
Kodack tells 69 News that it has no plans to take it down and is maintaining its posts.
These women, they have spoken and they have already been closed. Some of them lodged complaints with the police and nothing was done. So I’m not backing down because these women deserve to be heard, ”Kodack said.
