Kristaps Porzingis appears to be responding to criticism with social media post

Kristaps Porzingis seems to have a message for everyone who has piled up on him this season.

The Dallas Mavericks big man took to Instagram on Saturday to write a post that appeared to be directed to his enemies.

“Going into this offseason with a chip on my shoulder and I’m going to use all that noise to feed me even more,” Porzingis wrote. “I only focus on what I can control and that is to be better every day. I will keep smiling and enjoy the process through it all. Thanks for the love and support. [Unicorn] 2.0 incoming.

Porzingis, 25, (20.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game) figures didn’t look so bad this season. But it often seemed like an afterthought in the Mavs’ game plan, especially during their first round loss to the LA Clippers where Porzingis was nearly invisible. The former All-Star was also criticized for playing like a 7-foot-3 shooting guard who floated aimlessly around the perimeter on offense and did not sufficiently protect the interior on defense.

The last report we heard was that Porzingis is reportedly feeling frustrated with his role in Dallas. But it looks like he’s determined to make a difference next season, whether it’s with the Mavs or some other team.
