YSRC and TDP blame gambling on land dispute | Visakhapatnam News

Visakhapatnam: The state’s main political parties have crossed swords over allegations of encroachment on government lands and their recovery by the tax authorities in the city of Vizag. District tax authorities on Sunday recovered 49.5 acres of land valued at Rs 791 crore within the Gajuwaka boundaries on the outskirts of Vizag, which former TDP MP Palla Srinivasa Rao allegedly encroached on. The former MP has now issued a challenge, saying he will quit politics if it is proven he has encroached on land. Tourism Minister Srinivasa Rao in turn alleged that TDP leaders had seized Rs 4,000 crore on 430 acres of land in the district. Palla Srinivasa Rao added that the allegations amounted to revenge because he had not changed parties, raised his voice and protested against the privatization of the Visakhapatnam steel plant. I have land in Yadava Jaggarajupeta and not in Kapu Jaggarajupeta. They connect lands to which I have no connection with my name. They would have to prove their claims, he said. Refuting opposition allegations against YSRC leaders, the minister said the government would take action even if YSRC officials were found involved in land grabbing cases.
