Why Robyn receives so much criticism from fans of the series

Robyn Brown was inadvertently made to look like a villain on TLC’s Sister Wives polygamy show, but it really was nothing more than bad timing.

Of all of Kody Browns’ wives on Sister Wives, Robyn Brown is the one receiving the most fan criticism. As Kody bears the brunt of fan complaints, all wives come under scrutiny. While the Browns were hoping the show would be a way to show people the misunderstood world of polygamy, all Sister Wives seems to have done is confirm that polygamy is not a happy way of life and open up the family to criticism, especially Robyn.

As things seem to get worse for wives, they need to become more and more independent. The pandemic left most of them home without husbands, as Kody ended up staying almost entirely at Robyns. Christine traveled alone to visit her family and Janelle focused on her health. She eats healthier and works with trainers to lose weight and has managed to keep it off. While Robyn had her husband present and is treated like Kody’s favorite wife, she appeared to be the least happy of wives, which annoyed fans. Looks like Robyn has what other women want, but all she does is cry and complain.

Robyn was introduced during Sister Wives season 1 when Kody was courting her and decided to add her to his harem of wives. Because the Brown family presented themselves as a happy polygamous family, it’s easy for fans to correlate the addition of Robyns to the family with the start of the Browns’ troubles. Robyn changed the family’s long-standing dynamic and divided Kodys time even more. Robyn was also younger and leaner than any other woman in Kody, which plays with the painful stereotype that men leave their wives for a younger woman. Even though all of the wives agreed to bring Robyn into the family, she emerged as a tow truck.

However, the brides have struggled with jealousy before and all hinted at issues that existed before viewers were invited into the Browns’ lives. Christine was jealous that Kody refused to take a shower at her house. Meri was jealous and devastated that second wife Janelle could have gotten pregnant before her. The wives also all argued over how to discipline the children. If cameras had started tracking the Browns before Kody met Robyn, viewers would likely have a better impression of Robyn. While Robyn hasn’t broken up a happy family, it turns out that way on the show and fans just don’t like it. Whenever Robyn cries, viewers can only blame her for keeping herself in a situation that makes her miserable.

None of the women are happy to share a husband, but none of them have left yet. Robyn is out of what she called an abusive marriage, so Kody may seem like the safe choice for her, but it’s still a clearly unhealthy family life. If 15 seasons of Sister Wives have taught audiences anything, it’s that Kody won’t change, and he’ll never make his wives happy. The longer it takes Robyn to figure this out, the more fans will criticize her.
