Jordan Pickford played down criticism of England’s performance as they drew 0-0 with Scotland in their second Euro 2020 game on Friday night.
The Everton goalie was a star player for the Three Lions, but Gareth Southgates’ side were booed at the final whistle, failing to make a breakthrough on the other end.
With England now tied with the Czech Republic at the top of the group with four points, the Three Lions’ chances of advancing to the round of 16 and dominating the group are in their hands.
And Pickford was taking the positive after keeping his second clean sheet of the tournament despite losing points.
I thought I had a good performance. I had a good stop and ordered a few centers, he told reporters. They put a lot of pressure on me, but it’s just about being in this moment as a goalkeeper and helping your teammates.

I felt like I had done this tonight and another clean sheet that I’m happy with.
Obviously it’s a huge game and we want to take the three points in every game we play and we want to win the game, but the biggest tonight was if we can’t win it, don’t get beaten and the resilience of the guys to get the clean sheet. That’s what we did.
We have four points, we still control the squad and we have to prepare for the Czech Republic now.
