Hours after hiring journalist Vineet Narain and two others, Bijnor police dismissed the allegation of land grabbing in Nagina town near Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Kshetra, general secretary of the trust, and Champat Rai.
“The allegations against Rai and members of his family were prima facie found to be unfounded during the preliminary investigation,” Bijnor Police Superintendent Dharmeer Singh said on Monday.
In his Facebook post, Narain alleged that Rai, after taking over the land in collusion with his brothers and other family members in Nagina, opened a college and affiliated it with a university.
Narain addressed his post to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

The journalist assigned her post to an expatriate woman based in Indonesia, Alka Lahoti, who allegedly told her that the Nagina cow shelter was established by her father in 1950.

“Our family has no connection with the cow shelter lands. It aims to defame us, ”he said.
Police intervened after Rai’s other brother, Sanjay Bansal, filed a complaint with Nagina Police Station on June 19.
