The problem is linked to the Karipur gold smuggling case.

A day after the Kochi customs station filed a report with a special court in Ernakulam on the Karipur gold smuggling case, alleging that Arjun Ayanki, from Kannur, was involved in the case, the youth wing of CPI (M) denied any connection with him. . Arjun Ayanki is a left-wing cyber celebrity with over 40,000 followers on Facebook. Officials from the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on Tuesday urged supporters to stay away from these social media celebrities, who fake ties to the party. The customs service summoned Arjun Ayanki for questioning in the case.

On June 21, customs seized 2,332 grams of gold from a Malappuram native named Mohammed Shafeeque Melethil at Calicut International Airport in Karipur. The case gained more attention after it was revealed that the five youths who died in a traffic accident at Kozhikodes Ramanattukara on the same day were linked to smuggling gold. It has surfaced that the young people who fell victim to the crash were allegedly members of a gold smuggling racket. The accident allegedly happened as the gang pursued another rival smuggling gang, believing they were in possession of the gold brought by Mohammed Shafeeque, unaware that he had been arrested by customs. Arjun Ayanki is said to have ties to one of the rackets.

In the report filed by customs with the additional chief judicial magistrate (economic offenses) in Ernakulam, requesting the custody of the arrested accused Mohammed Shafeeque, the investigative agency said that Arjun had ties to Mohammed. Shafeeque. In his customs statement, Shafeeque said Arjun was waiting for him outside the airport.

He (Mohammed Shafeeque) also stated that he was related to Saleem above (through him Shafeeque allegedly obtained gold) through a Muhammed who was related to him by a person named Arjun. He was ordered to return the wheeled bag containing the gold to the person who contacted him outside Calicut airport. Later, Arjun told him to change the shirt that was worn by said passenger when reaching Calicut International Airport and Arjun would wait for the passenger outside the arrival area of Calicut airport, customs say. in their report.

Speaking to Facebook, DYFI’s Kannur District Secretary, Mr. Shajr, said: “Although they have no relation to the movements in the place where they live, deceiving those in the area. outside (of the place), they have become leaders. Warrior lions will be on Facebook all morning and night when everyone is asleep they are smuggling.

Shajir also said that dozens of people on social media outside of Kannur have secured a spot on those people’s fan list. Hopefully those who love and express wishes for the smugglers, will rectify themselves. As you might think, these people have no connection to the party, Shajir added in his post.

However, reports indicated that Arjun was previously a member of DYFI. Reacting to the allegations, Arjun recently took to Facebook saying he had no ties to CPI (M) or DYFI for the past three years. I watch in an interesting way the half-truths disseminated by the media. Be patient until I am called in front of investigators, he added in the post.

Meanwhile, DYFI Secretary of State AA Rahim said DYFI had no connection with Arjun. Reading a statement released by Kannur DYFI in February this year, Rahim said that DYFI had already spoken out against those involved in the drug mafia, smuggling and rating groups.

Meanwhile, voice clips alleged to be Arjun Ayankis have been aired recently by Malayalam news channels. In the alleged audio clips, a male voice, believed to be Arjun’s, can be heard instructing the carriers. In one of the audio clips, the man believed to be Arjun can also be heard saying he has the support of party workers in Mahé and Panur.
