Tim Scott calls Biden’s aide for blaming GOP for funding police: ‘Most ridiculous thing ever said’

Sen. Tim Scott, RS.C called out Cedric Richmond and Democrats for claiming Republicans were the reason law enforcement was funded as violent crime increased in American cities. The South Carolina senator told “Fox & Friends” on Monday that Biden’s senior White House assistant position is “ridiculous” and that Republicans are seeking to “reimburse” the country’s police services .

TIM SCOTT: It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard all year, and we’ve heard some really ridiculous things from Democrats, but now it’s the icing on the cake. It’s the most ridiculous thing ever said.

The facts are simple. Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Cleveland and New York, all in Baltimore, have all been reimbursed to the police. What we have seen is a 40% increase in violent crime in major cities because Democrats have funded police for a year. Also, what we did on the other side, of course, was reimburse the police.

Even the police reform law I’m working on now provides more money for officers because the last thing you can do is have someone go to the most dangerous places in our country without resources and without covering its liability. If you don’t do both of these things, you can’t ask good people to go to bad places to make them even better.
