As Germany prepares for their European Championship fixture against England, Bayern Munich star Thomas Mller has admitted to hearing criticism from Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.
Like any striker, Kane is under pressure from his lack of productivity, but Mller said he would be okay if Kanes’ scoreless streak lasted at least one more game before honestly assessing the situation.
As a German player, I wouldn’t really mind if this debate continued until Wednesday and if we didn’t accept a goal scored by Harry Kane (as captured by the Daily Mirror). He’s someone who knows deep down that maybe he needs to change his own game a bit. I don’t really know what is causing his problem, I can’t really say why he doesn’t. just haven’t been able to score because there hasn’t been any change, in terms of technique and ability to score goals? So I don’t think he’s negatively influenced by that.
Mller noted that like any top scorer, Kane needs to be patient.
In principle, very good attackers need to be patient. Deep in their hearts, of course, they’re impatient, but any good striker has to watch out for his own scoring chance, Mller said. Sometimes the goal scorers are the ones with the least contact, but then they get the bigger pictures the next day in the papers.
