Roommates, we know rapper Cardi B resists criticism throughout her career! This is exactly what happened after the mom-to-be made the world graceful in two photos from her maternity shoot. In one of the photos, Cardi and her eldest daughter Kulture were wearing traditional white head wraps and disguises. Now, the good old netizens seem to have blamed the culturally appropriate artist for Cardi B’s access to Instagram and Twitter to share her inspiration behind the look!
In the maternity photo, Kulture’s hands are placed on the mother’s growing crest, looking at each other. Cardy’s outfit consists of a large headband paired with a crossover top and a high slit skirt. Kulture had a similar style, but wore a dress instead of a two-piece. She also rocked a miniature version of her mother’s scarf. Both outfits are all white and decorated with gold jewelry. Underneath the post, Cardi wrote a note about Kulture, her fetal siblings.
“Like me and Henny, the two are three years apart, so they’ll love each other a lot and have a lot of talking,” Cardy wrote. “But one thing is certain: we support each other so that no one else does. ”
For those familiar with Afro-Caribbean culture, maternity fall costumes taste similar to those worn in traditional dance. However, internet reviews say Cardi B because of the similar styling. Seems to have interpreted it as a diversion of African cultural clothing. This makes sense given that many traditional customs in Caribbean culture are based on the customs of Africans who were once enslaved in the Caribbean.
Cardi B, who appears angry at the accusations, has used both Instagram and Twitter to provide educational information on the matter. The appearance was clearly inspired by Dominican cultural clothing. As you may know, Cardi B has an Afro-Caribbean descent with roots in Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic.
She shared photos of two women dancing in white cultural clothes on her Instagram and Twitter accounts. In the third photo, she added a short comment: “In the name of the Afro-Caribbean, this is not an uncultivated pig.”
She also posted a video of Dominican men and women wearing white rap and doing traditional dancing. Posts created on his Instagram account have since been deleted. By Wednesday morning, Maternity will be taking a photo of Cardi and Kulture with 10 million likes and over 68,000 comments.
