Michael Dawson told Sky Sports News (6/29/21 at 9:25 am) that he has received a lot of criticism for wanting Scott Parker to be Tottenhams’ new manager.

That won’t happen now as the 40-year-old former Tottenham midfielder took over at Bournemouth after leaving Fulham and Nuno has just been handed the keys to the north London club.

But after more than two months of searching for a new manager, Daniel Levy, and the new sporting director, Fabio Paratici, have finally landed their man.

Well, he probably wasn’t their man to begin with as they seemed to travel all over Italy and parts of Europe before opting for Nuno.

Nonetheless, ex-Spurs man Dawson expressed shock at how long it took Tottenham to bring in a new face, as he made his statement about Parker.

I really wanted to see Scott Parker and got a lot of reviews for it. I really did. He’s gone to Bournemouth now, so that won’t happen.

Martinez, I am a huge fan of him. But Nuno if he entered.

From one Portuguese to another it will be interesting to see what is going to be done with Nunos’ style of play as Jose Mourinho is his former coach, mentor and coaching inspiration.

And a lot of it will depend on one man and whether or not he stays this summer.

Not only are Spurs in danger of losing Harry Kane, they are an aging and declining team that needs to be refreshed.

So the other question that needs to be asked is will Daniel Levy put a significant amount of money on the table for Nuno to reorganize this previously struggling team?

If he doesn’t, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Spurs headed for another wrestling campaign.
