Democrats blame GOP for ‘spend the police’ efforts invented by Democrats

As violent crime increases coast to coast, Democrats could do one of two things about their “police funding” initiatives that are propelling this chaos.

They could defend their efforts and say, in essence, “Who cares about the burgeoning carnage? We want social justice, may the blood of the innocent be cursed. Or they could apologize: “We missed everything! Our soft ideas have been shot down by reality. Sorry!”

Instead, Democrats are performing a political trifecta of hypocrisy, deception, and psychological projection: Democrats have not funded the police. The Republicans did it.

The lying Democrats now accuse the Republicans of funding the police and, presumably, of sparking the epidemic of lawlessness that followed. Their proof? Republicans have opposed President Joe Bidens to the $ 1.9 trillion US bailout that provided $ 350 billion in aid to states, cities and tribes.

Nowhere does this 242-page bill mention the police or law enforcement. This law allows public safety officers to participate in an allocation of $ 80 million for training in mental health and substance use disorders. In addition, public safety is one of the goals of spending $ 772.5 million to tribal governments.

Now, post facto, Biden is encouraging states and cities to spend some of that $ 350 billion on police. If Biden told them tomorrow to spend that money on food for orphans, he could criticize Republicans for starving orphans.

This massive and filthy lie is easily refuted by the pro-funding comments from Democrats and the funding carried out in Democratic-run cities after the murder of George Floyd in May 2020 under the knee of Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin.

On July 8, activist Ady Barkan asked candidate Joe Biden in a virtual interview: But do we agree to redirect some of the funds to the police?

Yes, absolutely, Biden said from his Delaware bunker.

ABC News George Stephanopoulos asked candidate Kamala Harris on June 9, 2020, if she supports Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcettis, a Democrat, plans to take some of the police money, roughly $ 150 million, from invest it in health initiatives, training initiatives for young people.

Harris replied: I applaud Eric Garcetti for doing what he did.

Vanita Gupta, now Deputy Attorney General of Bidens, said on June 16, 2020 that officials should reduce police budgets and the scope, role and accountability of the police in our lives.

Representative Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Said at a rally on June 7, 2020: Not only do we need to divest from the police, but we also need to completely dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department.

Police funding means police funding, said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y. on June 30, 2020. It doesn’t mean budget tricks or fun math.

In addition to these comments and many more in favor of funding the Democratic left, leaders of Democratic-led cities have funded their police services. Among the many such actions, consider these:

The Portland, Oregon City Commission voted 3-1 on June 17, 2020 to fund $ 15 million from its police budget, cutting 84 positions. Homicides in Portlands climbed 800% through May 25, 2021, compared to that date last year, according to the National Fraternal Order of Police.

The Washington, DC City Council Committee on Justice and Public Safety unanimously voted June 25, 2020 to fund the $ 15 million Metropolitan Police Department and transfer that money to social programs. Homicides up 35%.

On July 1, 2020, the Los Angeles City Council voted 12-2 to fund the Los Angeles Police Department by $ 150 million. Homicides up 27%.

The New York City Council voted 32-17 that day to fund the New York City Police Department by $ 1 billion. Homicides up 22%.

On December 10, Minneapolis City Council voted 7-6 to fund its $ 8 million police department and spend that amount on other services. Homicides up 56%.

Beyond funding, Democrats have demonized the police as trigger-happy racists who shoot blacks for sports. It fueled resignations, retirements and an attitude of not getting involved on the part of cops with metaphorical handcuffs.

Rather than ridicule themselves by baselessly putting their tails on elephants, Democrats should simply apologize for their massive fundraising debacle and beg the forgiveness of the American people.
