Calcutta: The Congressional government of Trinamool in its budget for fiscal 2022 had focused on the credit card programs of Krishak Bandhu, Lakshmir Bhandar and students.
In February, putting the vote on account in the Assembly, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced 26 new programs and projects and all of them were mentioned in the new budget by the Congressional government of Trinamool.
While West Bengal finance minister Amit Mitra is not feeling well, TMC general secretary Partha Chatterjee on Wednesday read a budget of Rs 3.08 lakhcrore to the assembly on Wednesday.
The state government had decided to waive the off-road tax on passenger vehicles until Dec. 31 and offered a two percent rebate on the registration of stamp duty deeds. More than two thousand crore has been added to the Krishak Bandhu program and 500 crore to the student’s credit card program, Partha said.
The general secretary of TMC also said that the state government will soon launch a basic income program for Lakshmir Bhandar women.
During her speech, Partha also announced the allocation of several amounts for major departments like health and school education during the current fiscal year.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reshuffling the cabinet instead of cutting fuel prices.
The BJP is a lost affair for the 2024 elections. Although ignored by the center, Bengal is ahead of many states and is independent as well. We have vaccinated nearly 2 crore 30 lakh of people in the state, Mamata said.
Contrary to the claims, BJP MP Ashok Lahiri said Mamata Banerjee should first issue a statement mentioning how many vaccines his government has purchased and how many has sent the central government led by the BJP.
Lahiri also questioned the state government that, without the CAG audits, it could assert the actual budget allocation.
Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari said the budget is actually for eight months as there are several discrepancies between the interim budget made before the assembly ballot.
Before the polls in the provisional budget, there were several references to North Bengal projects and in today’s budget the reference to North Bengal is not there. The state government asks the center to lower the price of petroleum products, first they should leave at least 20 rupees out of 38 rupees in tax levied by the state government and then we will ask the center, slammed Suvendu.
