ATLANTA Centennial Academy, an Atlanta charter school, responds after allegations against a school administrator linked to a minor in southern Georgia.

The school released a statement Wednesday afternoon, acknowledging that it was aware of the “allegations” but did not elaborate on what the exact claims were.

“As there are a number of legal and privacy issues, Centennial Academy cannot discuss or comment in depth on this matter,” the statement said in part. “The school is not aware of any misconduct occurring on campus or involving Centennial Academy Fellows.”

The school went on to say that it is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of the student body and its staff.

“It is a responsibility that we take very seriously and which prompts us to take swift and consistent action if necessary,” the statement said.

In the statement, the school said the staff member had not been convicted of a crime, however, the school’s human resources and legal team are currently investigating. The statement also states that the staff member has been placed on administrative leave for the time being.
