Andre Drummond says he criticized Frank Vogel for promoting his NFT collection

[ad_1]

Andre Drummond caused a stir on social media Tuesday. In a response to a fan on Instagram, Drummond said he would have dominated the paint for the Lakers if Frank Vogel played him more.

Drummond then used the attention he received from that response to promote an NFT collection he is releasing on Friday, as well as a pair of Kareem Abdul-Drummond shirts inspired by a tweet from Skip Bayless. No, seriously: it all happened.

At the time, it seemed like Drummond was only capitalizing on the attention he was getting on social media, and while that may have been the case, Drummond said everything from the response to the fan on Instagram, was part of his promotion plan. his NFT collection (via ESPNs The Jump):

It was not a problem to begin with. I used this to … I’m actually running an NFT on Friday, so it was just to get everyone’s attention. It was very strategic, I just did the right thing. I got attention and now I’m talking to you so I can talk more about it.

Drummond added that he had an overall positive experience with the Lakers:

I appreciated. I think my time and experience in LA has been really good. I think I learned a lot from being with these guys, LeBron James and Anthony Davis … I can’t wait to see what happens next.

So, no harm, no fault, I guess?

More seriously, Drummonds’ attitude towards this situation, while benevolent, seems to indicate that his time in Los Angeles is over. This might have been assumed due to the Lakers’ limit on the money they can offer him in free agency, but the more he talks about his Lakers career in retrospect, the more obvious it seems he has one, if not both feet. , out of the door.

And if not, I hope Vogel has a good sense of humor and / or a deep respect for the NFT market.
