A 13-year-old girl was hospitalized Sunday afternoon with non-life-threatening injuries after a man fired three shots in a road rage incident in southern Colorado Springs, ON announced the police.
A vehicle with five people inside was heading south on Interstate 25 around 1 p.m. when a white GMC Acadia arrived “aggressively” behind the first vehicle, officials said.
The two vehicles approached the South Academy Boulevard exit when the GMC pulled up beside the other vehicle and an occupant of the GMC threw a drink on the driver’s side of the other car, said deputies.

The vehicle with five occupants stopped at a red light at the end of the exit ramp, followed by the GMC, MPs said.
Investigators said an occupant of the GMC then pulled out a black handgun and fired three shots at the other vehicle. A bullet passed through the car and reached the back seat of the first vehicle, where the tip of a bullet, its expended energy, passed through the seat and injured a 13-year-old girl, law enforcement said.
The victim pulled up to a fire station in the 3700 block of South Academy Boulevard. The girl was then taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, MPs said.
The police searched for the driver of the GMC. She described the driver as a bearded man with short hair, blue eyes, an athletic build and a beard. The vehicle has been described as having a temporary tag heavily stuck to the rear of the vehicle, MPs said.
